About Alpha Dance

Alpha Dance Academy was founded in 1985. Since then, the academy has built an excellent reputation as a leading dance school in the east of Scotland.

This reputation is due to our high standard of teaching, our excellent examination results, the performance opportunities for children and our modern outlook in dance training.

Our main aim is to create the perfect balance between having fun in class whilst training to a high technical standard.

Alpha Dance Academy offers a range of classes including Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Hip Hop and Cheerleading for all ages and abilities. Classes are held in the following areas:

• Bonnyrigg, Midlothian
• Musselburgh & Tranent, East Lothian
• Portobello, Edinburgh
• Children have the option to sit BTDA Examinations in Ballet and Tap. The exam qualifications hold an NVQ and are recognised by the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET).

Our annual show takes place at The Brunton Theatre and all children have the choice to take part.

Many of the children have appeared in both professional and amateur productions and some of our pupils are now in full time dance training.
